NY Yankees Recall Caps
I don't know if you heard about this, but the NY Yankees authorized the sale of hats with the following designs:
For those of you from Orange County, the colors and designs are obviously gang inspired. The design and color are symbols for the bloods (red) and crips (blue) and the crown is the symbol of a variety of Mexican (and in the case of New York, Puerto Rican) gangs such as the Latin Kings. I'm glad to see that professional sports are trying to tap into one of their biggest markets: gang affiliation and wannabes.
The hats were recalled because of pressure from Harlem community activists. Among their complaints, organizers pointed out that "unsuspecting kids could buy one of the hats, wear it in the wrong turf and then be targeted for attack."
My only question is, did they really think they could get away this? I mean, who sold the idea to the team to make a bunch of gang-themed hats?...fairly odd Mr. Steinbrenner.

Joint Post Coming Soon...
In an effort to revive Robert's failing website, I have agreed to make a co-post that will feature a review of the new Dr. Strange movie (for a small fee). It will appear on both of our blogs shortly.

Another HUGE Announcement!
Somehow, my other blog, Boring Political Diatribes won Best Blog of the Day. I can't say I'm too surprised.
I am surprised, however, that this blog has failed to become Best Blog of the Year/ Best Blog of the Century/ Best Blog Since the Conquest of the Aztecs/ Best Blog of all Human History and Experience, which all objective indicators would suggest that it already is. Undoubtedly, it is a government run conspiracy.

Huge Announcement!
Today saw the release of a feature film of this blog's official superhero, Dr. Strange, entitled Dr. Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme. I haven't watched it yet (it's directly to DVD, as most great feature films are), but I'm pretty sure it's going to be amazing. I would advise all my readers to rush and buy it.
Here's the description from the DVD:"Peel back the layers of reality and behold a stunning realm hidden beneath. One of magic and wonder. Of sorcery and enchantment. Of ancient spells, secret doors and remarkable heroes who protect us from evil. Because this is also a world of dark mysticism, malevolent forces and unspeakable horrors. And within the shadows around us, a supernatural war is waged. But the balance is shifting. Darkness is winning. Yet there is hope...
Join us as Dr. Stephen Strange embarks on a wondrous journey to the heights of a Tibetan mountain, where he seeks healing at the feet of the mysterious Ancient One. But before his wounds can mend, Strange must first let go of his painful past and awaken a gift granted to very few. The gift of magic. Empowered as the new Sorcerer Supreme, Dr. Strange now tests his limits, rising up against monsters that push at the gates, facing the most terrifying entity humankind has ever known."
Like I said,... it sounds amazing.
